Planetary climate under extremely high vertical diffusivity

چکیده
Aims. Planets with large moon(s) or those in the habitable zone of low-mass stars may experience much stronger tidal force and tide-induced ocean mixing than that on Earth. Thus, vertical diffusivity (or, more precisely, diapycnal diffusivity) such planets, which represents strength ocean, would be greater In this study, we explore effects extremely high circulation surface climate Earth-like planets one asynchronous rotation orbit.

Impact of latitudinal variations in vertical diffusivity on climate simulations
[1] The currently available theoretical and observational evidence for a latitudinal structure of thermocline vertical diffusivity is synthesized and included in a state of the art coupled climate model. Compared to the standard background value of 0.1 cm s , the simulations with the latitudinal structure show only little change in the meridional overturning circulation or northward heat transp...
متن کاملPrinciples of Planetary Climate
This book introduces the reader to all the basic physical building blocks of climate needed to understand the present and past climate of Earth, the climates of Solar System planets, and the climates of the newly discovered extrasolar planets. These building blocks include thermodynamics, infrared radiative transfer, scattering, surface heat transfer, and various processes governing the evoluti...
متن کاملSiC JFET dc characteristics under extremely high ambient temperatures
This paper reports on the measured dc characteristics of a SiC JFET device from room temperature up to 450◦C in order to evaluate the device’s capability for high-temperature operation. The authors packaged SiC JFET bare die into a dedicated high-temperature package to be able to perform experiments under extremely high ambient temperatures. The experimental results show that the device can ope...
